Carys Owen
Carys spent a decade working within multinational organisations across the utilities and construction sectors before founding The Business Pod in 2008 — initially establishing the consultancy in Bangkok, Thailand, where she served clients across Asian markets before bringing the business back to the UK.
That international foundation shapes everything The Business Pod does. Having worked inside these industries globally, Carys understands the world her clients operate in — not just as an observer, but as someone who has lived it.
Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Carys has worked with and developed more than 6,000 professionals across manufacturing, construction and beyond. She has seen first-hand what happens when technically excellent people are promoted and left to figure out the people part alone. That gap is what The Business Pod exists to close.
Carys leads our culture change, management development and coaching programmes. Her approach is hands-on and practical — she works in your environment, not just a meeting room. She combines deep expertise in behavioural change with personality frameworks including MBTI and SDI, and NLP techniques, to create lasting change that shows up in how leaders think, decide and act.
Carys is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), a certified coach and NLP Practitioner (ABNLP), and an MBTI Type 1 and SDI Certified Practitioner. Carys is also a Welsh speaker and delivers coaching and training through the medium of Welsh.
